Welcome and Welcome Back!

All of us at the Religious School are looking forward to an exciting, productive year. Hopefully, you all have enjoyed your summer and whatever sunshine you were able to soak in.

Please find enclosed the calendar and registration form for the upcoming year. It would be wonderful to have you return the completed registration form on or before September 10, 2008.

This year our Religious School program begins on September 14. Some of you are already aware that we are incorporating a few changes in the schedule this year. We will continue to start our Sunday school day at 9:25 am with Tefillah, although this year we are asking the Confirmation students to join us in the morning. Directly following Tefillah we will all meet together before separating into our specific courses of study.

The Confirmation class will meet together following Tefillah until 11:00 am. This new class time allows our Confirmation students the opportunity to participate in a variety of field trips and other experiences that may take them beyond the classroom and into the community/world around them with our new Rabbi, Andrew Goodman.

Our other returning students will meet for Hebrew class while Confirmation classes are being taught. Following Hebrew, at 11:00 am, the religious school students will meet for snack before they continue on to their Religious Studies program.

Please remember to have breakfast before coming to Religious School and don’t forget to bring your snack each Sunday.

To recap, the following is this year’s schedule:

9:25 am Students should be present at TBI  (Including Confirmation Students)

9:30 am Tefillah begins for all students  (Including Confirmation class)

10:00 am Classes begin

         A. Hebrew- for religious studies students

         B. Confirmation Class

11:00 am Snack

11:15 am Religious Studies  (Confirmation students will be released unless a fieldtrip, holiday or community event has been planned.)

12:30 pm Religious School ends

All of us at the Religious School look forward to seeing all of you on September 14! Please call 569-8638, Marla Wolkowicz, if you have any questions.

Sincerely,

Marla Wolkowicz, Rabbi Andrew Goodman, Sara Hurwitz, Natalie Reif, including Educational Committee Members: Kevin Gitlin, Lauren Keifer, Lynn Schlesinger.
